What remains manual

The primary Chrome lens checks supported static package evidence. You still need to test installation and every important runtime path, verify backend behavior and vendor contracts, complete the live store listing and privacy forms, provide reviewer access, and respond to reviewer judgment.

2026 privacy policy timing

Google published its 2026 Chrome Web Store policy update on July 1, 2026 and states enforcement begins August 1, 2026. It adds prominent disclosure for all data collection, necessity for the disclosed single purpose, and proactive disclosure of relevant post-install data-handling changes.

Violation-code orientation

Chrome's current troubleshooting page associates Blue Argon with suspected remote hosted code, Purple Potassium with excessive permissions, Yellow Magnesium with packaging or functionality, and Purple Lithium or Purple Nickel with user-data disclosure concerns.
